Aw, Poor Jade

Bless her little cotton socks.

I know not all of you like her, and when she first entered the house my immediate reaction was to get her straight out again! However, as the days have gone on I have warmed to her as she's settled in and quietened down.

Her reaction when Davina announced that Lynn was to be evicted had me in floods. :bawling: The poor girl was absolutely distraught, and the whole experience seemed to be extremely traumatic for her.

She is very young, and I hope this experience doesn't have a lasting effect on her and that the other housemates can soon cheer her up. Knowing that they wanted to keep her in the house should be a great comfort to her.

Did anyone else feel the same? :colour: :spin2: :colour:

Those odds of 50-1 are starting to look generous.

I actually think that Jade has a better chance of winning this than, say, Kate.

jbellemeg 31-05-2002 08:24 PM

I felt much like you Kaz.
My first reaction to Jade was " get her out" but as you said since she's settled down she has been great, and that is why I delayed voting until last night when I saw the nasty way Lynne reacted to Spencer.
She tried to make light of it after but it was too late the damage had been done.
That woman shouldn't drink she obviously can't take it.
Well done everyone that voted to get her out.:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

BigSister 31-05-2002 08:26 PM

I felt sorry 4 her too

I am starting to like Jade now

I did feel sorry for Jade tonight because she was very upset. Unfortunately I still don't like her though.

I've liked Jade from the beginning, tonight I like her even more, you can tell she so want's to be in that house, it's her dream, her life. Good Luck to her, and I think she stand's a really good chance of winning now.:love:

My immediate reaction to Jade was 'get her out' too. Now my opinion of her has totally changed. I think she's a sweet girl who just wants to be liked by everyone.

GO JADE!!

She is definitely getting better, she isn't at the bottom of my list anymore (even with Lynne gone she's still not bottom). But, the voice still grates and the propensity to talk and not listen still annoys.

I hope the public can warm more to Jade. Love her or hate her she is natural, emotional and enthusiastic and that should count for a lot to those that are fair minded.

I don't think she is winning material but I think she does deserve to be with the final few.

For the record I did not join in with the others in attacking Jade. Infact the the vitriol started making me more a Jade supporter. Much the way I became a Paul supporter when the housemates kept nominating him

Her voice does not grate with me, but then I lived for a time in the London Borough of Bromley, so maybe I am more used to her accent.

I am glad Lynne went only because Jade was in no condition to leave at that time.

She needs to be in for a time yet so she can become a better person in much the way that Helen did.

I may change my tactics to this effect.

BTW for the record I did not vote as I am not at my Newcastle address so did not have permission of the bill payer to participate. (They have BTinternet Anytime so I can surf)

WILDCHILD 31-05-2002 10:27 PM

I didnt like watching Jade cry like that.
As much as the whole surprise eviction made it exciting, I dont think it should have been done because Jade is obviously going to be affected by this now, she knows that she is one of the most unpopular in the house.
I am backing Jade to win - I think she is really sweet, yeah she had her cry but she is slowly getting back to herself and having a laugh with the others which is good on her part but I bet deep down she is pretty scared.

GO JADE!!!!:colour::elephant::colour:

Any chance that C4 would release the actual voting figures ?

steve_o 31-05-2002 10:31 PM

I think the poor girl's going to be scared stiff to say much this week.:joker:mind you it must be a good feeling to know that the majority in the house voted to keep her in.:hugesmile:

I hold my hands up - I was one of the 'Get Jade Out' party but she has quietened down and is starting to blossom. I hope she does well.

She's obviously very vulnerable and took tonight's eviction news very hard, I felt really sorry for her. I hope the fact that the housemates voted to keep her in gives her confidence.

Sticks 01-06-2002 04:55 AM

I got the impression that Jade's tears was a result of what in pychology we call "survivor's guilt"

Helen had a mild version of this when she survived the Josh V Helen vote in BB2

LEE 01-06-2002 10:09 AM

Jade is getting better and I wouldn't mind her staying till about the half way point in the show now as there are a couple of poeple I think deserve to go more.

She can be quite sweet at times but I still hope she doesn't win.

i'm with you LEE! Bottom of my list are Adele and Lee, but Jade comes third. I don't mind her as much as I originally did, but i'm still not a big fan, and i'm sorry, but I hope she doesn't win.

I felt for her when she was crying, bless her.

Sticks 01-06-2002 03:20 PM

With regards to who wins, I still seem to be somewhat neutral. :conf:

I seem to have been put on retainer as a cyber "Devil's Advocate" for Jade  (Someone has to do it )

However it would be beneficial to keep Jade in as long as possible, as it should develop her character in much the same way that Helen's character metamorphosed ddue to her stay on BB2

With respect to Jade's voice grating on people, if someone criticised a person because they had an accent from Africa or Aisia or a Celtic voice, they would be accused of racism. Yet people criticise Jade for her South East London voice with impunity. :nono:

Incidently, I was having lunch at the Fox and Hounds in Tadley today, and I overheard someone with a similar accent to Jade

This shows that Jade is not alone in having such a voice, and this makes up the rich tapestry that is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Sticks 01-06-2002 07:49 PM

I suspect Jade has an even lower self esteem as well.

Thank you C4/Endemol

BTW is she still revilled in the tabloids ?

As I said before other people talk like Jade, why should she be singled out. Why not the lass I overheard in the pub ?

:mad::devil::mad:

Sticks this ones for you. You asked me a while back to post this and I did so on another thread, but don't know if you saw it. This is my deaf border collie Belle.
As for Jade I started to get used to her on about the third day.
I voted for Lynne to leave, but must admit that in the begining I wanted Jade out.
