C4/ Endemol Bungling will make Jade the target for 1st round nominations

This appeared on the C4 Reach forum, and makes a lot of sense.

Quote:

Because the public nominated first, the housemates now know that, in the eyes of the public the two least popular housemates are Lynne and Jade.

Lynne is now gone, leaving only Jade. The more savvy housemates will realise that if sufficient numbers of them vote for Jade - enough to get her up for public vote - then the public is likely to follow through and evict Jade over the other nominee.

Is this an oversight on Channel 4's part? Surely the housemates are supposed to be totally isolated from public opinion. But they know know that the public likes Jade (and liked Lynne) the least, and that may have some tactical bearing when it comes to their choice of weekly nominees.

Thus in the first round of nominations Jade will get it and she will be out on Friday, thanks to C4/Endemols idea to "spice things up":devil::bawling:

That's a very interesting point Sticks and one I had not thought of. I don't think the housemates have realised either though.

Jade seems to be very popular with them and I don't think they will nominate her this week.

An interesting theory - I don't think it will happen though cos I don't think the housemates are bright enough to have worked this out.

Then again, if they ARE clever, they may not vote for Jade at all, thinking that if the public don't like her and she stays in till last then they have the best chance of winning!!

Miriam!......You clever (if devious!...LOL ) blighter!!

Don't forget there has to be TWO nominations. If they have got their thinking heads on (Wurzal Gummage...bless 'im) second nomination must be the MOST popular HM........

Does anyone show any sign of being Machiavellian ?

My prediction is that Jade will be nominated and get the chop.

1) The housemates know she is unpopular on the outside world and this is an easy way to get rid of the competition

2) According to BBLB Jade is still the least popular housemate in the official site poll

3) Sandy & Alex are now talking against Jade (See official site for details ) Alex is going to stir things up so Jade will get nominated.

(180 degree turn around from their little chat with Jade on Thursday - The spirit of Elizabeth is alive and well  )

Oldgit 02-06-2002 03:39 PM

I'm not sure about this one. I think that if Jade was up against Alex this week, Jade would win.

I also wonder whether Jade's unpopularity on the Channel 4 website is cumulative, in that all votes cast since the beginning are included, and there are a lot of people who took against her at first but have now changed their minds.

I like people who make me laugh, so I want Jade, Jonny, Alison and Spencer in as long as possible!

Mairi 02-06-2002 04:07 PM

I think Jade will be with us for a L O N G time yet (sorry LEE)!!!!

I really hope so, I think she's sweet!

This counter argument has appeared on the C4 Reach forum

Actually I already made this point except I reckon the more savvy HMs will realise that:

1. Jade doesn't stand a cat in Hell's chance of winning and is no competition and

2. If they want to get rid of somebody there's no point in nominating them against Jade

The only reason to nom Jade will be if they expect to be nommed themselves.

Apart from her being terminally annoying that is!
Are the housemates that intelligent ?

Jade needs to be in as long as possible to facilitate her character development.

I still predict she will walk :bawling:

Sticks me old mate!!

Wrong again!

Can we close and lock this thread off now, please Mark

LEE 05-06-2002 08:40 PM

Why Sticks are you afraid other people will notice that your theories don't always work.

Kaz 05-06-2002 08:57 PM

Yes, bad move making that post, Sticks! You've succeeded in moving the topic back up to the top of the list so that everyone will notice it!!!

Never mind, better luck with your next theory. :colour: :spin2: :colour:

Does this mean you want Alex & Sandy to remain with Alison being given the order of the boot :conf:

Kaz 05-06-2002 09:40 PM

No, Sticks - I was just wishing you better luck with your next theory. :spin2:

I would dearly love to see the back of Sandy's kilt swinging up the stairs and out the door on Friday! :xyxwave:

[marquee]VOTE ALEX OUT[/marquee]

Sticks 05-06-2002 09:53 PM

But my next theory/prediction is that the forces of Alex/Sandy + certain far right nasty groups will combine forces and successfuly evict Alison :mad::bawling:

I am not in a position to vote but it seems that Alex needs to exit for his own good

Doesn't anyone find this opinion quite offensive. That anyone voting for Alison is in league with far-right politics.

Or is it just a way of persuading people to vote for who you want out. Not nice.

Sorry I was thinking of those who are voting a certain way, not because they genuinely dislike a contestant, but for tactical reasons such as the A/S pact or reasons of prejudice

Perhaps I should have phrased it as But my next theory/prediction is that the forces of Alex/Sandy + certain far right nasty groups will combine forces, adding to vote from the genuine Alison Dislikers and successfuly evict Alison

Incidentaly Chris Eubank from Celebrity BB was on RI:SE and he apparently was voted off first. Someone else made an observation on this forum that people of a certain ethnicity always seem to loose on the public vote.

Much though it is distateful to contemplate this, the suspicion is that some of the voting is done by those from the far right as part of their own warped and twisted Agenda.
