Singer and DJ Sonique, best known for her number one hit It Feels So Good has been told her breast cancer has spread, her spokesman said.

The 40-year-old, who discovered she had the illness last week, was immediately operated on at a clinic in London's Harley Street.

Since then test results have shown the cancer has spread and she is having to undergo a second lumpectomy operation.

Her agent Cath MacKenzie said: "As you would imagine she was very distressed."

She added: "The surgeon doesn't feel he got all the cancer out.

"She is bearing up very well but yesterday was a difficult day when she heard the news."

The release of the singer's latest single, World Of Change, which had been due to be released next month has been delayed.

The star - whose real name is Sonia Clarke - had chart success in 2000 with the remix of It Feels So Good, reaching number one in the UK and in the US dance chart .

Aww no :sad: thats really sad news. I loved her back in the day and was gutted when she stopped all of a sudden. I hope a miracle happens!
