I think they can

Yes they can. Not in the same way humans cos, cos we're one of the only species with proven Theory of Mind and also our communication is very arbitrary. Animal communication is mainly for the purposes of survival, letting the other know about food, danger and potential mates etc.

yeah the original ( without the guy talking) has the cats meowing to each other. So cute but couldn't find it.... somewhere in youtube I guess.

When my cat gave birth (she only had one kitten), her and her "son" would mew to each other constantly. Was adorable. They still do.

Awwwwww. Does it ever want to make you cry??? sometimes want to cry at things like that but i dont know why lol x

ange7 21-06-2009 02:27 PM

yep that's it!. They sound like they are reassuring each other. It's communication I guess but it's not like a complex language...( which is what I thought your thread was about)

lol yes, but I'm an emotional trainwreck!! hahaha. I always think it's so cute and im like "awww" then I feel myself going to cry. It's just so sweet.

But I've learned all about animal language in my Psychology degree, so when I actually think about it's not even that sweet LOL

I think they do but I think they read body language and sniff etc rather than talking

Nope they can not
