Do yo beleive that everything happens for a reason??

I kinda do. I think some things happen for a reason but not everything.
I dont know why, but I just do.
Does anyone else? And if so. Whyyy? x

pinkmichk 25-06-2009 06:34 PM

i do if that is for a good reason or if its tough at the time it can only make you stronger and give you lessons for the future i take my miscarriage as one while it devestated me to loose a baby me and my ex then split a month later as he had been cheating on me so the baby was obviously not meant to be
i'm also a strong believer in karma too so you do bad stuff to others its eventually going to catch up with you in the end

Locke. 25-06-2009 06:36 PM

I do indeed.

Of course that is Simple Logic

What is it with some of you Women?

Zac 25-06-2009 06:38 PM

Nope. Don't believe in fate.

Enid 25-06-2009 06:41 PM

No I do not.

People do not get hit by a bus or raped for a reason. People do not win the lottery for a reason.

Sometimes **** happens. Sometimes you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sometimes you make decisions that are beneficial or detrimental to you.

Jayson 25-06-2009 06:46 PM

No.

Ninastar 25-06-2009 06:50 PM

Oh.

And pink sorry to hear about that.

One thing that makes me think it is that a member one here (I cant remember who it was) said that on the day of the london bombings that they had a brother meant to be on that same bus. But the brother missed the bus and managed to live.
If he was a few mins earlier then It could have been horrible.
I am sure it was someone from here. Maybe it wasnt though. x

That is called coincidence.

Sarah. 25-06-2009 07:16 PM

No, not at all.

Beastie 25-06-2009 07:17 PM

yes

MrGaryy 25-06-2009 07:19 PM

yes completely. and fate, altho they are sort of entwined. But yeah, I believe I do things and things happen to me for that the reaction can occur. I believe there's a path set out for me [not by God] and that nothing can change it.

Fom 25-06-2009 07:20 PM

I do personally, I think the downs make you stronger and they adapt your character. Everything in my opinion happens for a reason, it makes me cope with life easier, because I handle so much rejection in my life I need to understand that when I don't get a job it is because it is not meant for me and something better is waiting for me around the corner.

Ive gone through so much rubbish in my life but they make me who I am, and therefore happened for a reason, I wouldn't take any of it back because it makes me who I am.

i am exactly the same

bronaaaa 25-06-2009 07:58 PM

Yep, my year head did a really good assembly on it the other day, with things about 9/11, like 'One man surrvied because it was his turn to get the donuts' 'Another survied becasue she missed the train' etc., really made me think. When sh*t happens though, I doubt it.
I really believe in karma.

Princess 25-06-2009 08:05 PM

Yeah, completely. Even horrible things always happen for a reason.

Yet again, that is merely coincidence. It's not something to be astonished about. Stuff like that happens on a daily basis.

So you're saying only good things happen for a reason? That makes no sense whatsoever. You have to take the good with the bad. So why did thousands of people die on 9/11? Because they didn't miss their train? Because they weren't sick that day? Karma? If EVERYTHING happens for a reason, what reason could you possibly give for 9/11?

I'm a realist, not a pessimist, by the way.

Ninastar 25-06-2009 08:19 PM

If 9/11 hadnt happened. then maybe they wouldnt be so protective and act as fast over things??? maybe 9/11 kinda helped in that way?

rayheartbliss 25-06-2009 08:24 PM

sometimes i do, and other times no

pretty much.

Dom:D 25-06-2009 08:38 PM

Em,sometimes I do and sometimes I don't.

MaryClaire 03-07-2009 08:51 AM

I do believe that everything happens for a reason and there is significance in every event in our lives whether it is a pleasant or unjust. Even at the most saddest part of our life there's a hidden opportunities and joy that lies behind. For me, the only way to believe that everything happens for a reason is "appreciation", the attitude to appreciate everything that comes in our way.

It happens that I'm here answering some posts, it's because I have the reason why I'm here.

KillER 03-07-2009 09:10 AM

no i dont. i believe life, in most cases, is what you make it. your decisions and actions are what gets you where you are. apart from things you cant directly control of course, like naturey thingys ._.
i dont believe in fate and that we have a path already set out for us though. life has many different twist turns and directions, and the majority of the time its you who chooses which directions you take.

NettoSuperstar! 03-07-2009 11:35 AM

No people affect their own fates and fates are affected by others and chance just comes up and deals a blow now and again

x_eztiger_x 03-07-2009 11:59 AM

i think everything happens for a reason, deffo

Stu 03-07-2009 12:21 PM

What evidence is their to support everything happening for a reason? The only reason we consider it fate or believe in the concept is because of prior things that HAVE happened and the outcomes that HAVE stemmed from these events. Thats not everything happening for a reason, thats just cause and effect. You do one thing and it changes something else. Thats just the way the world works, not some predestined string puller stripping us of choice.

I think it is horrible to think that everything happens for a reason because that essentialy rapes us of our free will.
