Michael Jackson was not a Musical Genius!

Michael Jackson was no musical genius.

There is no evidence that he played any instruments, composed his songs or even wrote the lyrics.

He had a perfect voice as a child, but after adolescence it wasn't special.

People talk about his dancing, but he was hardly a professional dancer. There were millions better.

He was the focal point of some great shows, which mostly had nothing to do with him.

Lauren 26-06-2009 10:44 PM

He had a massive amount of fans, they won't change their mind because they read your post so it's rather void.

Scarlett. 26-06-2009 10:45 PM

He inspired millions...heck BGT just shows how many he inspired! All the dancing groups probably grew up watching his videos/perormances

Simone. 26-06-2009 10:48 PM

H was a singer/songwriter who set the foundations for so much of our music today. As a child was he was amazing, so indredibly talented.
& in the 1980's when Thriller came out I think it changed the music industry forever, there was nothing like that around, a fish out of water & it is still some amazing iconic song, along with billie jean, man in the mirror, and beat it & all the others, they're just my top ones.

Look at all the people on the talent shows Britain's got talent, America's got talent so much of that is inspired by him. So many musicians have some forward today saying how Micheal inspired them, if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have half the music we have today.

I agree

rayheartbliss 26-06-2009 10:50 PM

yes, there is no evidence that he is a musical genius.
but he was a massive influence in the music world.
and honestly probably contributed the greatest music

Simone. 26-06-2009 10:51 PM

Just have to say I'm not really a fan, but his music is incredible.

hannah. 26-06-2009 10:54 PM

just when i thought i couldnt lose any more respect for you. as i have you on ignore i havent even read the post but you're clearly talking crap.

MarkWaldorf 26-06-2009 10:56 PM

I'm not a fan of Michael, I never paid him much attention over the years, but like everyone else I knew his songs and knew how big they were.

Regardless of whether he did play an instrument or write a lyric, his legacy and influence is so massive that it WILL live on for so many years to come. Just look at twitter, so many artists, politicians, sportsmen and world leaders have paid tribute to him and mentioned how influenced they were by not only him as a musician, but as a person.

For his generation, his videos, albums and songs are far apart from others of them years and they are probably some of the most known from the 70's/80's/90's. He is a musical icon/genius, you cannot really dispute that. He titled himself the King of Pop, no one began calling him that, but millions obviously agreed and where ever he is now he'll forever be known as that.

Yesterday/today will be remembered for a very long time and instead of disrespecting the day, maybe you should be remembering where you were when you heard the news because it'll be a tale to tell some day.

Some threads obviosly are baiting, and dont even deserve a reply! But just to let you know my feelings about it!

So i'm not allowed to have an opinion that goes against his fans veiw,so that makes it "void".

What a sad day for free speech

hannah. 26-06-2009 10:57 PM

I clearly didn't mean that, don't twist my words.

I meant FOR HIS FANS, your argument is void because it's hardly likely to change their opinion. Infact, no need for me to explain I meant that, since I literally said "they", in the last post.

Edit: Infact, look at your avatar and "location" - you're turning no-one. Not to mention the fact you're pushing non-fans to even disagree with you because of that.

LemonJam 26-06-2009 10:59 PM

Simone & MarkWardolf speak epic truths.

Shaun 26-06-2009 10:59 PM

Yeah try telling that to the millions of fans he was adored by, or the thousands of musicians he influenced.

Wildcat! 26-06-2009 10:59 PM

A troll will always remain one. So dont feed it!

Trying to have a sensible debate with it!!!:conf:
Good luck with that then!

Simone. 26-06-2009 11:02 PM

Aswell can I just say he did write his own songs.

I remember on CBB they were asking La Toya what he wrote about Dirty Diana & Billie Jean about, he's known for writing.

So just void to his fans.Ok.
I did not say i was trying to change peoples opinions with this thread, I'm just stating what i feel . We are all entitled to have different opinions on whether he was a genius. I am just saying that he wasn't.

If you mean my posts, well that's because I'm not an MJ fan, so I can hardly say what everyone else has said.
