"Is this BB the most appalling so far?" - Yes without a shadow of a doubt,

DITTO

That's all the words it's worth this year so far

I dont agree - I dont think any Big Brother had been appauling, they have each been different in their own way. Yes, Ill admit BB2 was the best and was better than the thrid series but I dont think you can call this one appauling, just different.
I think it has done pretty well for nearly 2 weeks - 1 walk out, 1 surprise evicition, romance, bitching, alliances, a dozen arguments, 2 parties - like some person said on the Daily Record, this is just getting started!!!!!:colour::colour::colour:

I don't think it's appalling. I love it. I just think it's difficult if you were a HUGE fan of certain characters last year its difficult to stop comparing.

Unfortunately I've had guests the last week, so I've missed quite a lot but I'm still enjoying it immensly.

My opinion

:xyxwave::wavey::xyxwave::wavey:
I'm enjoying BB3 too; it's obviously different and the characters are 'not the same' but that is to be expected. People are different!

I also think that there is a danger of judging too soon - it is only the second week after all. Even last year, I did not really get into BB until the thrird week and now we are studying the prog. 24/7 with all sorts of technical devices (well, I am!)

I have tried very hard to get into it this year but have so far failed. I'll admit I was, and still am, a huge Helen and Paul fan, but I really don't think that it is just that I am always comparing this years BB to them in some way.

I didn't really start to like Helen that much until the third week, however, I WAS completely hooked on last years BB after the first couple of shows. It didn't take me this long and it definitely wasn't hard work. I was hooked virtually from day one.

I just find the mix of people this year very juvenile and crass. They are so obviously wannabes and I think even if they had been given more tasks I would still be finding them boring. All of last years contestants I found interesting and even the ones I didn't like a great deal, such as Narinder, I still enjoyed watching and found interesting. I'm afraid I just don't find talking about who fancies who all day particularly enthralling.

I hope my opinion changes, I really do, but at the moment this shallow set of individuals does nothing to inspire me at all. :bawling:

I still say we would be enjoying the show much more if the housemates were given stuff to do!

Who wants to sit and watch 11 people talk for 9 weeks! It's boring! And even the nicest of people can only talk for just so long!

Give them a task and see if they work well as a group!

Gardencroft 06-06-2002 05:24 PM

If it doesn't get going soon it'll be boring by week 6 no doubt about it!!

I dislike it intensely

I think the only true emotions shown in the place have been:

Sunita's horror when she looked around and woke up to how awful they all were

All when they heard about the lightning eviction threat

Alex in response to what annoys him (almost everything!)

I am incredulous that these people were selected from a bus queue, never mind 150,000.

I have always known that the 'Bitches' had questionable tastes, but to say this is better than BB2 is ridiculous

In fact, Mark, re: Smilies, can we have some more for:

Throwing up, House of Horrors, a two faced head???

I'm sure we would find a use for them.

Mad Matty 06-06-2002 07:29 PM

In response you smilies i do have a throwing up smilie that was created...just to test whether it was possible..your welcome to use it ROB:laugh:

Whilst I am on the subject (bit between teeth)

I have seen three BB's in Holland as well. I only saw a little of them, whilst visiting relatives, but on each occasion I was INSTANTLY hooked, just as I was with our BB1 and 2. I had to keep on ringing to find out what had happened.

And, as you know, there was plenty of you know what in the Dutch BB's so I can't blame my repulsion to this gang to their friskiness.

I am beginning to wonder if I am watching the same programme as some people :conf:

Mad Matty 06-06-2002 07:36 PM

I heard they had to close the portugeses(spelling?) one down:thumbs:

monie 07-06-2002 09:29 AM

I certainly agree If they dont do something soon like some mid week task they will have no one left in the house they would all have all walked out. I only watch it in case something exciting happens and so far the only good bit was Jades party which was edited out.
This years contestants do not seem to have any leaders, any time one of them gives some sort of advice the all turn on that person they are all so busy performing in front of the cameras :elephant::elephant::dance:
