A lot of the missunderstanding towards Ro is cultural

I am finally watching the chair incident with Rodrigo. In Brazil we are taught from a very young age not to destroy property like what Sia did. It doesnt matter if it cost $5 or $100. I would have been upset too if I had been in that house and so was BB that's why he got called to the diary room.

Weird culture. Can't wreck a chair yet half the population lives in misery.

Let me tell you something because I think your another one who has never been to brazil and yet think they know everything. It's one thing to say we have poverty in brazil which I agree with and another to say something to do with our coulture is weird. What I'm saying is respect for property is something very important to us.

Saved up his own money for what? His degree? It costs like £30,000 for an international student with very little government help available. I don't see how anyone could that young could save up that much money unless he got up very high in a drug dealing gang which seems unlikely.

thanks for the info =]

All of you are so disrespectful when it comes to different cultures. Americans have a reputation for being arrogant/ignorant towards other countries but I guess other nationalities are too.

not a problem. I'm just trying to help people see things from a different cultural point of view. I think this is where Ro clashes with the house and the viewers... he hasnt learned to adapt to British culture yet and still carries a lot with him from Brazil.

Here's an idea for you: if your mate Rodrigo goes on a BRITISH game show and then flips out due to some Brazilian cultural taboo, and then you go on an Internet forum and get all stressed out about it, well....

I do really like Rodrigo though. He's so serious he's funny.

kellybsblover 12-07-2009 02:46 AM

lol trust me I'm not stressed, I come here for fun and sometimes with the hope of educating people... Big Brother forums dont stress me out.
Here's an idea as a BRITISH person which I'm assuming is what you are you could watch a show like Big Brother Uk where you come across people from different cultures and attempt to understand that they might react differently in different situations instead of making fun of them.

i'm not brittish and i don't care what rod thinks. he is on brittish BB house and he should respect that.

One other thing is that Brazilians like to cherish their friendships with people... if you look at why Rodrigo was crying a huge part of it was because he's friends where leaving.

absolutely and I think he does respect that since he has claimed various times to love England...he cant however simply leave behind his Brazilian side which is something I have a feeling he really values a lot .

thats is complete BS, he should respect others. it's not his house.
and by the way, how do you know what he feels? are you brazilian, i doubt that. you just feel sympathy because he is "sweet innocent little angel boy"

Why is it so hard to understand that a person can try their best to adapt to another culture but they will still carry part of what they bring from their original culture with them. That's the way the world has always worked for immigrants.

It's always a matter of having respect for the house, it doesnt matter whose house it is, property should not be destroyed like that. This was the point Ro was trying to make. You don't go to your neighbors house and destroy their property do you?
