Big Brother called the Housemates to the sofas this morning to announce the results of this week's Hospital Task.

Unfortunately the diagnosis was not good. The gang clocked up six fails on day three for not wearing the correct clothing and messing up two treatments. This means that they have failed the task and will only have basic rations this week.

Early this morning the chatter about chocolate and crisps faded away as the Housemates faced a week on the breadline. With just £77 to feed the Housemates for a week, they're going to have to make every penny count.

But the group have come up with some sensible ways to save money. Saskia suggested baking fresh bread. "It's nicer and it's much cheaper," she said.

And sugar-loving Kemal thinks it would be sensible to bake cakes rather than keep getting chocolate.
