It's his type that make girls starve themselves, I've known girls like that and it's VERY easy to get to them. Tell them anything that you think would look better and they won't care about what it is, they'll just do it.
Think of Karly. Originally brunette, now blonde cause he wanted it. Wears blue contacts even though she's brown eyed, cause he wanted it. Has a tattoo of his name on her...willing to bet he had her get that for the sake of her questioning leaving him so quickly.
He has money, he's used to getting what he wants, he likes girls that will give him anything he wants.

It was so ironic hearing the skinny little runt Ken say that Sophie needed to improve her body and then Tom who has gone to an extreme with regards to his muscle and body comment on how Sophie's tits were too big.

I doubt it, there'd be something else wrong with any girl that wanted to impress someone like HORRID Ken.

But I was relieved that Tom stood against him and said Sophie was alright

I think weight issues have a lot more to do with the media then what Men say, (although that could be an oxymoron cosidering most of the media is run by men) but articles like Heat magazine pointing out every single flaw are worst then what a python shoed man would say.

I was practically shouting at the tv when he was talking about dogface in such a degrading manner.... guys like him can pick the vulnerable girls a mile away. I think Dogface must have some issues about her looks otherwise she wouldn' strive so hard to make herself "ideal".

i agree that the media are terrible for it, but by hearing a man saying it, it makes women think "i knew it!! men do want us to be skinnier"

i know it may sound stupid to men, but to women, it's a big thing. constantly comparing ourselves, not only to celebs, but to other women all the time.

the first thing i said when kenneth said that was ask my partner what he thought of sophie's body. if he thought she should lose weight, just to see what he thought was too fat. yeah us women are nuts!! :whistle:

it was an awful comment, and sadly just the latest in a long line in a short time from this foul excuse of a man. It is men like him that make men like me want to apologise on behalf of the males of the species ... I genuinely felt for Sophie today for the first time in this series, and almost for karly too, almost. Even Kriss does not seem quite so bad now ... Tom is awful but Kenneth is vile and nasty. He is surely playing a part but his comments and actions go too far.

I value the opinion of men more than women I think. If you ask them directly men will mostly be too scared to say whether a woman is fat or not but comments they make indicate that they do prefer skinny women,

The magazines don't influence me AT ALL. I actually think there is far too much promotion of 'curvy' bodies in heat etc. and that they promote an ideal body that is a bit too fat and not all that healthy

To be fair, im glad that Tom didnt agree with the comment (i know he was a bit harsh, but not much, just sais Sophie was not attractive to him and boring, his opinion) but Kenny!:mad:

But I am a feminist so I try not to be affected by those things, but like I said, the part of me that was relieved to hear that Tom didn't agree is on a similar par! I would have been even more disgusted if he agreed as well!

I see that you and loomy are both saying that men's opinion on women's weight is more .... er, weighted (lol) than a magazine's opinion but I think that magazines might allow certain men to say things about women's weight more often because they see that there is a culture for women's weight to be commented on.
