no, thats not how it works. He simply needs to get a big enough % of the vote to be allocated a seat in the region that he is standing, he doesn't need to beat anyone.

it is yes, but all bets are off now. I voted to remain in the EU in the ref, but given the mess that the UK parliament is now, I think the lib dems best represent my stance, the tories don't, labour...

I've changed my mind on this and I will be voting...

I've changed my mind on this and I will be voting in the EU elections. As a remainer, the lib dems are going to get my vote, and I think they are going to do rather well.
