Sorry, you make some really really good points but I really need to clarify this.
Hallowe'en has NOTHING to do with witchraft originally (and witchcraft actually has nothing to do with black magic, or potions etc... witchcraft simply means the ability to change elements such as fire, water etc). Anyway... went off one one then...
Hallowe'en isn't anything to do with witchcraft, it's paganism. It's Gaelic history comes from "Samhain" which is the festival in which they believe two worlds overlap and we need to stock up for it (which is where the traidition of bobbing apples on Hallowe'en comes from too).
