It sounds like all you had to do was delete Asus update a bit like when McAfee won't go away so I just uninstalled it as it's a terrible program and AVG is better .
Sometimes updates can be annoying , and you've got to be careful of viruses sneaking in and unwanted things installing themselves

It's always worth checking your control panel to make sure the programs on there are needed . You can even see the date they were installed .
