There have been whisperings of an all-new Big Brother format for a while, but we now have ALL the details before anyone else, straight from the horse’s mouth.
Since Celebrity Big Brother was such a disaster last time, Channel 4 have scrapped the format and are instead bringing us Big Brother Celebrity Hijack in January. This will see a host of as yet unnamed stars taking on BB’s role and controlling a house of young contestants. And this time, those contestants won’t be the usual predictable range of wannabe glamour models and uber-bitches – instead, BB are looking for “exceptional” 18-21 year-olds who excel in music, sport, art, science, business and, well, anything really, as long as they know where East Angular is.

And the best news of all? Dermot O’Leary will be hosting the whole thing. Gosh, he’s a busy boy, isn’t he?

We can also officially confirm that Davina WILL be returning for Big Brother 9 next summer. Phew. With two BBs and the SATC movie to look forward to in 2008, our eyes are very excited indeed.
