I'm not so shocked that these sort of conditions still exist in China. However, it is kind of amazing that the exact same plant that had the issues with suicides wasn't reformed after it had been made public the issues with working conditions out of that facility.
One would think the tech companies that utilize these factories also would care about the working conditions of the people manufacturing their products, especially since these kinds of exposés are likely...
I guess it just goes to show how narcissistic these companies really are thinking they can get away with this and not really learn from being called out on taking advantage of these kinds of poor business practices... most consumers have no way of knowing which products they buy come from sweatshop conditions... but for a company as big as Amazon and Apple, more difficult to hide behind ignorance, given their size they're a fairly big target for these deep investigations...
