Subforums are merely a way to organise the forum to make it easier to find specific threads. And since LGBT+ topics are very common on this forum it wouldn't be unusual for it to have a subform for all of those discussion threads.
Unless I misunderstand the OP and she literally wants an LGBT only club to be away from everyone else. In which case I agree with you.
And tbh, on a forum with pointless subforums like bloody Dancing on Ice (who watches THAT?) they deserve one too.
