...I have to say I’m probably one of those people Kirk......in that I generally have very little interest in football but I did vote to stay in the EU and do believe in immigration...all I can say is my reasons for really wanting England to win and feeling quite ‘Nationalistic’ about it if you like...because of so many things in the recent past that we’ve all gone through as a nation and felt as a nation...like the EU referendum that was so divided and kind of split us as a nation...and then the general election, which carried on that dividing and separating process...we’ve had national grief with Grendel Towers...so much sadness with the Manchester bombing and the Westminster attack...so many more things, I can’t recall all in those moment...but so many negatives we’ve all felt and shared as a nation...so something positive to celebrate and get on board with like a sporting event such as this...(..as with Harry and Megan’s marriage recently..)...is just such a great thing and a very much needed thing...as a nation we need to feel the good as well as the bad together...which is why I feel particularly Nationalistic about this or these little football matches...because their meaning and what they give is so important I that old balance of world stuff and country needs...
