I ended up with a perforated eardrum on an EasyJet flight back from France about 10 years ago. I was sort of stuffed up with a cold at the time which I think contributed... but I'm convinced the cabin pressure wasn't quite right also
. Obviously not as dramatic as this - though that's what the bleeding ears will be.
Perforated eardrums are horrible too. You get this loud, crackling sound every time you swallow.
