You can't properly discuss the language and whole culture arising from things like hip hop if one group of people is allowed to use some words and others aren't. It's like building a barrier around it. There's many ironies around the issue for me about how it's meant to be empowering but ends up more segregating and emphasizing a race concept more than anyone else. You don't even have to look at the attitude of hip hop as having to be narrowly defined because hip hop has spread through many different cultures anyway.
