On the positive, it sounds like there are beginnings of a foundation there being built for the US/Russia relationships to improve, whereever that leads. I'd be excited that Putin so willing to send people here to help us with our invesigations, etc, if I didn't think that would be another backdoor to spy on us  ... Putin is a former intelligence officer after all, and Trump is a former businessman, sure, but he's not a hardened dictator...
So I'm a little bit nervous about how badly that could go if Trump ignores our own intelligence agencies and decides to take up Putin's offering(s) without acceptable pre-conditions... another way I read that, Putin could have also been taking advantage of Trump's willingness to arm himself with any sort of knowledge that would help him to win the fight in the media... something he is clearly still preoccupied with at this point.
