I don't think of any of these politicians as "heroes". I think by design most wouldn't hesistate to throw their own base under the bus if it really suited them... just the nature of that field. Sometimes they do happen to actually do their job,
so that's nice... but we're living in this weird era where we like to romanticize everything about politics. It's just so overblown... they're people with elected job titles for me... not really anything "special"... if they have good ideas, I will vote for them. Sometimes I don't agree with who I vote for all that much, but they have shown a record of actually getting being decent at their job and listening to their constituents and help with the larger agendas of the city (for example)... one guy may say great things, have great ideas, but
in execution be terrible at the job.. so it's a waste of a vote for me.
