I think the main point to make is, you may "fancy" someone for the way they write towards you...

But that's only because they're giving you attention.

The fact of the matter is, once you receive a picture you may realise you really don't fancy them, thus making the words they type pointless.

You also haven't a clue who they are, so you could be "fancying" the words of someone twice your age, or someone who is lying about their gender [which has happened here I believe?] and so on.

So in my opinion people may convince themselves they "fancy" someone for what they write, when in reality they're just fond of the positive attention they receive off that person. And as unshallow as you might like to think you are, there's always someone ugly enough out there that you'd never consider going near them =] no matter how charming they are.
