Mark Simmons, Director of Silent Hill: Origins at Climax has made a blog post on Konami.com which he talks about the success ad challenges of directing and developing Silent Hill: Origins.

After introducing himself as the games director, he talks about the fear of Silent Hill itself, not as a horror game, but a make or break your career decision.

«Games like Silent Hill Origins are the sort of projects you always hope in your career that you'll get the opportunity to develop, but it can also make or break you as you don't want to screw up a Silent Hill game as there'll be hell to pay.»

«With such a large fan base of dedicated followers who know the series inside out we've had to pay a lot of attention to detail to get this right.»

He's not wrong. Reading through the forums that much is obvious. Most Silent Hill fans are very protective and, dare I say it, afraid of change and how it will effect what makes Silent Hill so special and unique.

He goes on to say that like many others, Silent Hill 2 is his favorite one (Yes, he too is a fan) and he used it as inspiration to recreate SH2's "powerful emotional tones". By the look of things, Konami have been watching and helping the whole way [See: Development Issues] and he is proud of what he and the team have achieved. The wait is almost over...
