Miss Bollywood is designed to appeal not only to fans of Bollywood films and their super catchy hit songs but also to the mainstream audiences for high energy Dance or Music Theatre.

It's also a gentle look at the cultural divide between characters with Asian heritage but who consider themselves totally British and those who are from India in search of fame and fortune in Europe's multi-cultural capital city.

Shilpa is an AIDS activist, who in early February launched the Shilpa Shetty Foundation, a charity from which half the proceeds will go towards helping adults and children in Mumbai who are HIV-positive or living with AIDS and the other 50 per cent towards other good causes.

She presented her old friend Richard Gere with an award at the ONE X ONE charity event in Canada at the weekend. The awards are presented in recognition of individuals who have dedicated their lives to fighting child poverty and suffering around the world.
