Big Brother in the clear over Emily outburst

Channel 4 and Big Brother have been cleared of breaking any TV rules when they broadcast that awful moment when Emily blurted out the "N" word on Big Brother earlier this year. In the decision by TV regulator Ofcom, just announced this afternoon, they said that because Channel 4 made it clear the use of the racist term was unacceptable, it was not in breach of industry guidelines. Similarly, BB housemate Laura's use of the word "****" was given the all-clear, since there was no indication, according to Ofcom, that she had intended the word to be homophobic or had used it in "a denigratory way". Hmm... tell us what you think.
