I also remember writing on a political forum at one time.
Someone had copied an article from someone else, using the same byline but had left out the final sentence which made it clear it was not the view of who had written it and used it against the poster.
I only noticed when I read the same article elsewhere and noticed that it had been removed.
It's a minefield.
