As others have said, it was part of a wider, deeper discussion with Cameron. He was also trying to bond with him a bit and get to know him on a personal level.
Unlike when Lewis G walked over and literally just opened the conversation with "Who d'ya think is the hottest chick in here?" because that's the extent of his social skills... and was rightly shut down by Lewis F. that was completely different.
So not hypocritical of Lewis F at all really.
