I think the major problem here is that no one who isn't either A) an in-depth comics fan or B) someone who has read up on the MCU extensively online... is going to find that entire trailer really confusing and have
absolutely no idea what's going on. I'm sort of concerned that might apply to the entire film

I fall into category B) so I understand who the character is, who the other characters are supposed to be, where she came from, her place in the MCU etc. and tbh even then the trailer left me with no idea of how the movie is going to flow.
I'll give it the benefit of the doubt but yeah... as mentioned, I think a more bog-standard origin movie was needed for Captain Marvel?
