Tbh, I too heard that stuff about vaginas looking like a wound etc. The slang term gash comes to mind, men use it, straight men use it. So I wouldn't make too much of the fact that Tomasz is gay and I deffo wouldn't look for mother issues.
The reasons are complex I'd imagine, like men's views of women are complex.
Agree tho that it is an unpleasant and brutal comparison. And doesn't make much sense as other body orifices could be described in similar way, mouth for example.
