Quite sad but not an unusual story. Lots of kids had little or no affection growing up. I can't remember any affection from my mum, she never said I love you or was a hugger, I never thought bad of her or felt particularly unloved, she just wasn't that kind of person. Only time she ever told me was when she was dying. With my son, on the other hand she was soppy as **** and poured love on him. With Anamelia, I think she says things for effect, not buying those tears either.
