Susan was speaking to me from Hollywood this week, as she prepares to return to telly in a big way on Simon Cowell’s new championship version of Got Talent for US TV, scotching speculation that she had quit the industry for ever.

SuBo says of her break: “Well, I’ve been out of the spotlight for a while, but that was my decision.

"I’ve done a few performances over the past couple of years, mostly in Scotland.

“But to be given the opportunity to perform on America’s Got Talent: Champions is fantastic and I’m not nervous, I’m excited.

“I’ve spent the past couple of years growing up, learning how to deal with the nerves, I’ve lost a bit of weight and I’m ready to come back with a bang.”

In fact, she rubbishes rumours of hanging up her microphone any time soon.
