AJ is doing everything right in this partnership
he means it more like, this contemporary dance has a story very personal to her life, as for her family and her daytime job as an athlete
and in a contemporary you need loads of emotions, so probably he just hopes she's ready for that, they had been having good rehearsals so everything should be fine
i know that maybe Lauren isn't a typical AJ celeb partner, but she is good for him, like how Susan Calman last year was good for Kevin Clifton, to improve their teaching abilities and showing their lovely personalities more either
AJ cares a lot about Lauren, how fearless she is, her competitive mindset is similar to his own mindset
perhaps AJ also doesn't want to sound too overconfident now, and hopefully surprise us on the night itself with a stunning performance
i hope so cause contemporary dancing is one of my fave dance styles, and i am happy it has come to strictly now
