Default The Curse of 2007

Has anybody else noticed that this year has been a really bad year for reality TV, and until the end of last year, reality TV was as popular as ever but has taken a huge dip.

Firstly, we had the Celebrity Big Brother race row which dealt a huge blow to the Big Brother brand

Then we had Soapstar Superstar, popular whilst it lasted but it has now been axed

Just the Two of Us shortly followed Soapstar Superstar and was also axed

Grease is the Word got absolutely slaughtered in the ratings, with Any Dream Will Do being a relative success

Big Brother then followed, and with the build up, a lot of people thought it would be the best series, but it was critically panned and ratings dipped as low as 2.5m at the weekends

Hells Kitchen was back, not hugely successful but successful enough to get another series

X Factor returned, and is thought to be the weakest final 12 yet

Strictly Come Dancing also came back, but complaints were put in about moving the results show to a Sunday

and finally, I'm a Celebrity returned, but not as many people are into this years as previous years.

The only 2 reality shows I can think of that have actually done well with no criticism and will return are Dancing on Ice and Any Dream Will Do.

Is it just a bad year for reality TV, or is it dying a slow death?
