I can't believe we've gone through half a season only managing to draw Janet-from-The-Good-Place parallels with Alison when Dan is, in terms of both physical similarity and exact personality type, Mac from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
(which is why I can't bring myself to dislike him)
