WOW did I just come home to a gem of a thread or what?
I'm going to ask some questions/make some statements since I think there's a better chance that Cameron answers my questions than Raph, who I am STILL waiting with baited breath to hear back from...
Hi Cameron! Even though I wasn't rooting for you (#TeamAkeem #YesDaddy), congrats on your win! I think we all can tell that it meant a lot to you and that's always sweet to see. And as much as I think... how do I say this... that your coming out was
convenient in terms of helping you to be successful on the show, ultimately I do believe that it was Real and it was a nice moment to see. A little too dragged out from a viewing standpoint, but definitely not Fake (I would be a lot more inclined to call it fake gameplay if it happened on like... Day 40 rather than Day 20, ya know? You left plenty of time for the public to forget about it all so I don't think it was an entirely a ploy.)
What I was *not* a fan of, let me say
in the nicest way possible (ahem... prefacing something with this clause does not negate its meanness!)... I thought that a lot of the fear of ghosts/fear of chickens **** was PAINFUL and stuff that I would expect from like... Charlie Drummond or Brian Belo circa 2007. I thought a lot of your early game DRs that people were praising you for were largely empty ("people are playing the game! true colors will come out soon!" like yes, tell me something I'm not aware of.) I definitely think that for as much as you criticized other people's true intentions with regards to gameplaying, you were the HM who was the most fixated on The Game and one of the only people who would talk about it. I thought a lot of your drivel with Lewis F (we'll get to him later!) was baseless because for as much as you two complained about other HMs, it's not hard to see that the BB19 cast was collectively one of the nicest and most harmonious in franchise history. I hope you counted your blessings that you did not have to live with like... Carole Vincent tearfully chasing you around the house for eating an apple out of turn or Mohamed Mohamed stealing your entire breakfast from right underneath your nose.
As for Lewis F, I'm sure you almost feel like you have an obligation to be his friend since he helped you A LOT with your coming out, and that's a totally valid feeling because he was very helpful to you, if not also a little self-serving since I feel like he had a DR or two about how
he did such a great thing by being there for his friend when you needed him. That being said, oh my GOD what an awful vortex that both of you got caught up in. At first I thought you were bringing him down, then I thought he was bringing you down, but ultimately i think it was mutual. I enjoyed Lewis F the most when he was having awkward sexual tension with Anamelia and Kay and Brooke, and I enjoyed you the most when you were close with Tomasz early on in the series and after Lewis F's ejection when you were rather harmless and were getting a huge coronation edit to secure your victory. So yeah, I think a lot of people on this forum at least see it in a similar mindset because it really wasn't until Kay walked when you and Lewis F were sitting in bed all "that evil wench is playing the game... by voluntarily leaving the show! Because now
she can slag
us off and we can't defend ourselves despite still being on a television show six nights a week!" It wasn't a good look, sis!
So yeah, I don't really have anything else to say other than congratulations. I will admit that I *dreaded* you as a possible winner around the midpoint of the series, but then now that it's all over I would classify you as a...... an irritating at times but largely tolerable winner? Look at you getting that glo up! I would also *possibly* classify you as my least detested of the NickJoel (TM) archetype so that's another stamp in your book.
