10 years ago actually 8 was my first taste of BBUK and I loved what I saw.
I can’t remember how far I got into it but 15 year old me never forgot how good it was and then finally in 2011 I joined in when CBB8 started (in hindsight I think it was my memory of BB8 that kept me hooked cause it certainly wasn’t that series!).
The only civvy series I’ve outright disliked so far have been 4, 12, 15 and 16, and even then they all had parts I enjoyed.
