Pete Davidson has described how he felt suicidal and experienced online bullying after splitting from ex-fiancee Ariana Grande.
The SNL star, who split from Grande in October after less than six months together, opened up in an emotional Instagram post.
“I’ve kept my mouth shut. Never mentioned any names, never said a word about anyone or anything,” he wrote.
“I’m trying to understand how when something happens to a guy the whole entire world trashes him without any facts or frame of reference. Especially in today’s climate where everyone loves to be offended and upset it is truly mind boggling. I’ve been getting online bullied and in public by people for 9 months.”
He also spoke of how he had previously outlined his battles with mental health, and remained adamant that he would stay strong.
“No matter how hard the internet or anyone tries to make me kill myself. I won’t,” he said. “I’m upset I even have to say this. To all those holding me down and seeing this for what it is – I see you and I love you.”
Davidson’s frank address comes only days after he featured in the music video for Ariana’s ‘Thank U, Next.’
In the Mean Girls inspired clip, his name seemingly appears in a “burn book” that features all of Grande’s ex boyfriends – alongside Big Sean.
Davidson first addressed the split at a comedy gig, admitting that he had a “lot going on”.
