Parliament's too concerned with one-upping each other in the press and scoring points when a deadline looms ahead and we're no closer to having anything resembling a plan. This whole story and the faux outrage that comes with it is just another attempt at getting the nation to focus elsewhere.

I wouldn't get annoyed at someone calling him a stupid man. But if a Tory called a female Labour MP a stupid woman I'd be just as annoyed. And it wouldn't matter what else was going on in the world. All the time women are a minority in parliament it would annoy me.
