Ok you want to go into history, how far do you want to go? 1167, 1534?
The six counties of Northern Ireland were not stolen but were the protestant areas when Ireland was split in to two by the 1921 Government of Ireland Act. The other 26 counties were given independence in 1937 when a new constitution abolished the Irish Free State and proclaimed EIRE (Gaelic for Ireland) as an independent, sovereign state.
You then have the IRA breaking away from the IRB committing violence leading to the rise of the UVF to counter them.
The majority in the northern 6 counties wish to remain British, and the UK Government respects that, so we are where we are
If you have a personal stake, so do I, when we were growing up, because of my father's job in the civil service we were considered by the IRA as legitimate targets. We were not allowed to handle the post, or get in the cars until they had been checked. We lived under the shadow of the IRA, and as I said to some the Good Friday agreement amounted to a sop to Sien Fein/ IRA and a total capitulation and surrender to the men of blood and violence. People who had murdered women and children with indiscriminate bombings, like Warrington
