I agree in principle that people are too easily / quickly offended but I completely disagree that it is related to generation or age. Or, as is commonly the mistake, political leanings. It's a societal phenomenon, I would hypothesise (though have no evidence) that it's in many ways linked to connectivity / "the social media era" but it's a mindset that's affected a number of people of every generation from boomers downwards, of all ages, and from both ends of the political spectrum. Yes, there are plenty of too-easily-offended 22 year old gender non-binary socialists out there. There are also just as many too-easily-offended 60 year old arrow-straight whiskey drinking right wingers littering any comments section you could care to read.
It's just become "a thing". Not one that's inherent to any generation, just a mindset that's caught on across society.
It's also nowhere near as many people as is often made out... it's just that they're very loud about it.
