Default I, Armand, ranked the skinniest discography going.

Evening ladies, nobody asked for this. However, seeing we're all making artist ranking threads here's one on Mariah. I would do singles but honestly sis's been shooting out number #1's since 1990 and we don't have the time. Instead I did all her albums bar the festive numbers. Anyway, here we go I guess.

Spoiler:

13. Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel (2009)

It has some bops but overall I'll be honest this album is a bit of a mess. It's so long for no reason and girl the autotune . Took me a good 3 days to sit through it all but I didn't hate it I guess.
Faves: Candy Bling, Inseparable, More Than Just Friends, Up Out My Face

12. Mariah Carey (1990)

It has some good songs but its all very dated to me and some of the songs just kinda blended into one. Great Mariah vocals and catchy tunes but nothing exited me.
Faves: Vision of Love, Vanishing, Sent From Above, Prisoner

11. Emotions (1991)

I don't really have much of an opinion on this one, like the lead single is one of my favourite songs ever but the rest was a bit disappointing. I did enjoy the album but very dated imo.
Faves: Emotions, Make It Happen, You're So Cold, The Wind

10. E=MC2 (2008)

Don't know whether its because of the year it came our or what but production on this album is a bit messy/rough sounding. Still however basically all bops and Mariah's songwriting talent is ever present.
Faves: Touch My Body, I Stay In Love, I'm That Chick, Last Kiss

9. Music Box (1993)

I guess it's bit ballad heavy so I kind of have to be in the right mood to listen to this all the way through but when I am it's such a fun bop.
Faves: Hero, Dreamlover, Now That I Know, Without You

8. Glitter (2001)

Poor chick really just came out at the wrong time. Basically Mariah sprinkling some hood to songs you've heard before as well as some original bops.
Faves: Loverboy, If We, Don't Stop, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life

#justiceForGlitter

7. Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse (2014)

over all this album a southern black church vibe to it. It's got a bit of everything piano ballads, funk, a classic Mariah hip/hop cross over etc... It's filled with some gems. It's a bit longer than it needed to be but the production on this album is just delicious. I mean blood Mary J. Blidge is perched.
Faves: Faded, #Beautiful, Thirsty, You Don't Know What To Do

6. Charmbracelet (2002)

Despite this album flopping it's actually pretty good, for some reason the weirdest songs were made into singles so i wasn't expecting much but i was pleasantly surprised.
Faves: Boy, The One, Clown, Miss You, I Know What You Want

5. Rainbow (1999)

Overall such a fun album. Heavily influenced by hip hop this album feels like Butterfly's more youthful, bouncy sister.
Faves: Bliss, Heartbreaker (Remix), X-Girlfriend, Against All Odds, Crybaby

4. Daydream (1995)

This album is what they call a classic kids. Like the name suggests its very fun, light and dreamy (apart from the literal funeral song). Mariah's voice is a gourgeous and will make you feel. Great album to lip sync to if you wanna give the girls DIVA.
Faves: Underneath the Stars, Fantasy (ODB remix), Long Ago, Always Be My Baby

3. Caution (2018)

Who else is outdoing themselves at this point in their career?? This album is such a cute bop. It manages to be modelled while also giving us classic Mariah. It might just be me being bias because it just came out, I guess we'll have to wait and see how she ages.
Faves: The Distance, A No No, 8th Grade, G.T.F.O

2. The Emancipation of Mimi (2005)

2005 is a year that really can't be matched: Makosi rocked the nation with her jacuzzi pregnancy and Mariah shook the WORLD with this lil number. After her public meltdown and back to back flop albums, who would've thought that at 36 Mariah would rise from the ashes to dominate the charts one more time. HER MIND!
Faves: Shake it Off, We belong together, Circles, Don't forget about us (from deluxe)

1. Butterfly (1997)

Well what can I say about this album that hasn't already been said?? With this one, miss Mariah really pioneered the hip/hop pop crossovers that we're so used to today. Gorgeous in every way possible and i've yet to find a single flaw. Every single song on this album is POWERFUL. The girls then just couldn't compete and the girls today can only dream of being half as good.
Faves: Honey, My All, The Roof, Babydoll
