Oh wow, the early 90's 'not' burn, how will I ever recover from such a scalping? Doing the LT defense won't help you any more then it does for him.

Nothing you have said has really damaged my argument. The police believed and investigated Smollet's narrative until after they apprehended the 'attackers.' A few points you've just thought of in retrospect doesn't make it so that you had knowledge that the police did not.

Logic dictates that there was no real reason to doubt Smollet's version of events until the 'attackers' were arrested, the police certainly didn't and they had more knowledge than you or I. You doubted the story because you didn't want to believe it, simple as. To gloat over this is grim, especially considering that it's out of pure luck that you happened to be right.
