So I saw summat like this on Facebook but I hate Facebook and would never post there.
Anyway; the premise is, you're supposed to name or post something from your childhood that everyone your age would understand, but that "younger folks" would be baffled by without context. Like kids not knowing what a cassette tape is, etc.
Mine is simply this sound
My daughter: "WTF is that??"
Me: *explains*
My daughter: "....dial? What? What do you mean???"
It's a sound that I actually find weirdly exciting
. The sound of the gateway to trolling, free music that took 15 minutes per track to download, and grainy 20 second porn clips. Ahh, nostalgia.
