I assumed Siddiq fought too but that the flashbacks were for focusing on those who died. Rodney seemed too scared to fight back but I can't really blame him
I'd definitely liked to have seen more though, especially to clear up how each was taken and how exactly the deaths played out.
When hearing about this event in the comics I always assumed they were discreetly killed after being snatched without any of them knowing what was going on but having them all corralled together first just added so much more poignancy to it.
