THE dreadlocks might not be there but all the genes are after the latest Dutch hope made his professional debut today.
When it comes to descending from football royalty, then not many others can claim a better birth right to the throne than Maxim Gullit.
The 17-year-old son of the legendary Ruud Gullit came off the bench for Jong AZ Alkmaar this afternoon for his first taste of senior action.
The talented teen came on for the final 19 minutes of the AZ’s second team’s clash with champions Twente in the Netherlands’ second tier.
Gullit junior is a defender, and he helped his side to hold firm and record a clean sheet on his bow.
Many have been desperate to see how he fares with high hopes for the prodigy all throughout Holland.
But it is not only his footballing genius father’s DNA he has coursing through his veins.
The starlet’s mother is Estelle Cruyff.
She is none other than the niece of the three-time Ballon d’Or winner and the greatest Dutch player of all-time Johan Cruyff.
And his mum could not hide her joy afterwards as she shared a clip on Twitter of Maxim entering the pitch captioned with: “Proud mom!!!”
Dad was equally as pleased, sharing numerous clips for his boy’s big day.
