Also - asking guests to take off their shoes before they come in is really ****ing weird. I would legitimately rather just say "Nah I'll just not come in" than take off my shoes to go into a non-family-member's house for 10 minutes. Perverts.

I mean if the whole ground floor is kitted out in cream carpet....maybe but I think there would rather have a bit of street dirt than someone else's sweaty socks marking my floor
