I'd rather they have ads than the TV license but when it comes right down to it, I personally feel that we're moving away from both to subscription-model On Demand television anyway.

For the BBC as it is currently, I personally think a great model would be to have advertising on live TV and a subscription (£5.99/month seems reasonable - HALF of the TV licence cost) for ad-free iPlayer access. They could then also roll out iPlayer internationally with the subscription.
