I would say both, but IMO there is more pressure on females to look good, watch what they eat, ect.
Complete bull. Girls put the pressure on themselves to look good and be stick thin.

Also, lads have that same problem ^^ but it's not as publicised as much as it is with girls.

I know guys do, but it's more so that girls have more pressure, as most of the magazines have good looking women on the front covers, and are about women ect, most Celebs our about women having this diet, that diet ect, and as a girl, and being around other girls, all they use to talk about was clothes, looking good, being thin ect. I know most girls but pressure on themselves, some can't help it, they think guys will fall at their feet if they are thin, and perfect looking, so IMO, that's why I said there is more pressure on women looking good then men, I do know some guys out there are the same, but it is more common in girls to be like that, to have eating disorders ect.
But again that's girls putting pressure on themselves as some girls couldn't care less and are happy with themselves so that's why I don't think it's fair to say "girls are under more pressure" in regards to society putting pressure on them as I do personally think it's all down to the girls themselves.

Lads are the same, they want to look good and they put all that same pressure on themselves to look as good as they can; lose weight, go the gym, eat healthily, good body, dress well etc but the magazines aren't interested in lads who are doing that, they're interested in all the stories from women under just as much pressure as the lads.

So I don't think it's fair to say girls are under more pressure, it's just that magazines publish more about "18 year old's rebecca's fight with anorexia" as appose to "young guy fights for a body like david beckham".

Everyone; boys and girls are under pressure to "fit in" to society and look good but the extent of the pressure is down to themselves whether they be boys or girls.
