I think it will get marginally more popular but I can't see it reaching the heights that the UK version is at, especially with the Bachelor/Bachelorette holding a stranglehold on that market. A show being on every day is definitely something for Americans to get used to too, since we're so used to most programs being one episode a week.
That being said, the ratings aren't really good but they haven't been terrible and they've been steady and haven't dropped much at all. Apparently CBS execs are pleased because it's their most streamed show of the year and Love Island is bringing in a younger audience when CBS normally skews older.
I think it's going to be tough to break into that Survivor/TAR/BB triumvirate of CBS reality shows since they've been on the market for nearly two decades, but I can see Love Island going steady for a while and slowly growing in popularity. Not sure how long it'll last but I'll enjoy it while we have it (and hope that it kills off BBUS in the process :3)
