The family of X Factor runner-up Rhydian Roberts today pleaded with fans to "move on" in the voting row about the final show.Mum Angela Roberts spoke out after thousands of his fans complained about missing out on voting for Rhydian in Saturday night's final.
And the family revealed Rhydian has signed a mega-bucks record deal with X Factor boss Simon Cowell - and believe he will outsell winner Leon Jackson.
Media watchdog Ofcom has revealed the number of complaints has risen to 2,100 - with fans furious at not being able to cast their votes.
But mum Angela, aged 56, said: "We are just asking the nation to let it go and move on.
"The competition is over. We give our very best to Leon as a family and look forward to Rhydian's own career developing as it should."
She said the family had been inundated with support from people crying foul over Rhydian losing out to Scottish singer Leon Jackson, aged 18.
Angela, a charity director who lives at the family home in Sennybridge, said: "We never said the X Factor was fixed. We just want to move on with our lives."
Rhydian's uncle, businesman Nigel Roberts, said: "Rhydian is not bitter in any way about the result and the last thing he would want is any impression he has sour grapes.
"We've put any problems with Rhydian's fans not being able to get through to vote for him on Saturday down to technical difficulties.
"We can understand his fans may feel aggrieved and want to champion his cause but now it's time to call it a day. Rhydian wishes Leon all the best.
"We expect Rhydian to sell a lot of records and we will judge who is the real winner then."
He said Rhydian was coming home for Christmas and was then heading for some sun in the Caribbean for two weeks.
"Then he is straight into rehearsals in the new year for the X Factor tour which will keep him busy through February and March.
"After that he will start working on his album with a view to doing a UK tour at the end of 2008 - he's going to be a busy man indeed."
Ofcom said: "The number of complaints has now risen to somewhere more than 2,100 and we will be investigating."
ITV said Leon won by 10 per cent of the vote and called it "fair and square".
